ok heres the story, i was driving down the street and about a football field ahead of me was a ram. from the back it looked like a srt- 10 (because of all of that daytona styling) but any way i pull up next to him and i asked him if he would give me a run and he agreed. so the light turns and i jump on it and we were neck and neck until i hit second then he walked me slowly until 70 mph. i shut down breaking even with his rear bumper. i was suprised that i did so well.

however i do have a brute force intake. i am planning on getting the westers tune and a new 50 series exhaust on my truck. do you guys think i could beat a hemi after i put the wester and exhaust on?? please be honest. i plan on changing my licience plate to "HEMIETR" and i dont want to be made a fool if you know what i mean. :seeya:

thanks, -mike

The exhaust isn't going to do much, but the PCM will, however, don't get a plate that says "HEMIETR", cuz there is always the same guy that is has the same stuff you or others have on their HEMI and will wax your hind quarters.

Although I hate to say it, you can't beat displacment, even though its .4 liters, its still more motor, for what water that holds, it is a time proven fact. With some exceptions, but when talking trucks, "There is no replacement for displacment"

One exception is lineing up a older generation motor to a newer, then the smaller can and mostly will prevail.

I never had a problem with a Hemi, even in stock form.

Hell the second one that tried my truck before the programmer went on cussed me for a liar and swore my truck had the 8.1 and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He ended up cussing his truck and Dodge for all they were worth after I made him pull over and showed him that I was indeed telling the truth about it having a 6.0.

My opinion: The 5.7 Hemi = Hype and nothing more. Purely a marketing tool and when the truck is modified to produce more power you end up with typical Dodge automatic transmission problems. That part comes straight from a person who was developing and testing performance products for the Rams. One truck is an anomoly, two a coincidence but three of them is a pattern.

Your 5.3 will easily out do the vast majority of Hemi's on the road with a tune and probably last much longer as well.

cool zr2,

i understand that theres no replacement for displacement however an exception would be the dodge 5.9 litre. that huge engine only makes around 240 horsepower and i can beat those all day. but overall your statement is correct. i just know how close the race was between the HEMI and i, and i feel that if i would of had the tune i prolley would of had him. my truck isnt exactly slow persay. however i was wondering if you guys have heard any results between a titan and a silverado. those things have like 380 ftp tourque and 300 hp.

thanks guys

don't forget z06freak by your 1/4 mile times and speed your puttin out right at 300hp right now. The tune will be good for 20-30hp max. Noticeable but not massive power increase.

I believe a RCSB hemi will run mid 15's to high 14's unless they have some real heavy mods and a QCSB will run low 16's to mid 15's. Get your truck running below that and you should be fine.

My truck runs a 15.0 at 92 on a good pass at full street weight so I can take them all but the fastest RCSB's....and all those have to do is spin a little and with the AWD, I'm gone.

My Quad Cab Hemi Ram runs 15.2s @ 88 mph.
