I bought mine from Ebay 4 months ago, paid about $175, I don't remember the brand name though, but they look awesome! I hooked up the angeleye rims to the parking lights and don't worry about adding more consumption to the circuit, the rims use magnified LEDs so they use so little power.

Take a look, its kind of a low quality pic

macifre,

How do you feel the quality is of the beams on the angel eyes you bought? I may use them but I am curious...they are not compatible with aftermarket HID's so I'd be curious what bulb you are using?

Also, i noticed the outside three led's are not lit? did you not wire them or did you not buy the newer model with the extra three LED's by the side reflector?

Thanks for any info :chevy:

Just a comment...

I am building new headlights for the 91-96 Impala SS/Caprice and did quite a bit of research on the manufactureres and technologies out there today for automotive headlamps. Since BMW introduced the Angel Eye a few years ago, it has taken a while for that look to catch on..however it is now gaining momentum. Several overseas (China, Taiwan etc) shops have begun introducing new "projector" headlamps with AE's. While I personally like the AE's and the fact you can hook them up to your parking lights or another switch, what is troubling is the lack of perfromance of the projector/main lighting assemblies. In doing my investigation for the best optics I could find, I talked with one "overseas" company and a few consultants and the consensus was that the appearance/aesthetics of these are appealing but the performance is lacking.

NHTSA has also craked down heavily on importers and retailers of HID retrofits...installing HID bulbs in housing/headlamps designed and produced with/for halogen lamps (9004, h4, etc.) Because of this, manufacturers are being cautious as NHTSA has fined several companies providing non DOT spec HID's to the market. I don't believe the overseas manufacturers of these AE/Projectors offer them with HID options...probably due to cost, lack of technology or ability to test them to meet proper NHTSA lighting standards.

Since my Impala project will be wrapping up here soon, this might be a worthy project for me to investigate.

I would be interested to hear from owners of these how they feel the light output was.

well dude i just looked this up in the parts catalog and looks like the denali lamps will fit just not without changing the grill as well. now you might have been seeing seirra denali pickups or i belive also the old seirra c3 also had that set up but you will notice the old style denali front end facia, lamps, pk lamps, girlle, ect.. i read in a magazine somewhere that you couldnt change those lamps because the fenders on the denali are differnt then on the reg seirra but just to set everone straight there the same 88944417 for the Lh side and 88944418 for the rh side thats 99-06 so far as per the newest update. and the hoods stayed the same too. so sorry i dont know where i found the info on them not fitting but my bad..

and as for the makers of those lamps i got mine through matrix

    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
