Parking Brake

Hello, My name is Wayne. I don't think I've ever posted on here before. I own a 2001 Yukon SLT. It has just under 44000 miles on it. Lately it started making a noise when taking agressive right corners. I thought sure it was coming from the left front wheel...wheel bearing? I took it to a mechanic yesterday and he said that it is actually the parking brake rubbing that I am hearing. He tried to back it off and it didn't help. So now I am going to have to buy rotors, shoes and while I'm at it pads for this truck. Is there any other way to quiet this noise? My parking brake still works. I don't want to spend the money on it because I'm currently trying to sell it. Anyone have any experience with this?

My 1999 Silverado was noisey and i found out the retaining clip for the ebrake was bent letting the shoe rub on the drum. Stopped at the local dealership and they have an updated clip that solved the problem. The new clip is three times the size as the original one and heavier duty Price was $8.00 both sides.
