Whats up guys, i had my first experience at the track/ i took three runs.

The conditions were

95*

Very Humid

Elv. 3000 ft (Las Vegas)

With a low pressure system over the valley

My fastest time was 16.495. I was supprised that i didnt go faster. All i have is an intake and exhaust. I even removed the spare and my passenger headlight to try and drop some tenths. i lost to one of those turbo grand nationals. he ran a 15.276. however on the other two runs i raced a new eclipse he had a 4 cylinder with header, full exhaust, custom downpipe, stage three clutch and intake. he only ran 17.8. That was cool but I was dissapointed because we didnt get to run with the tree. they had a frekin stop light instead. heres all of the times...

r/t .732

1000 13.848

1/4 16.495

mph 84.75

Do you guys thinks this is a good time for my first experience?? does a better reaction time lower your overall time? How much difference will it make if i ran in the winter? ohh and the big one, how fast could i get with the westers 87/91 tune??

Thanks a lot!!

That's not too bad. Here's what the HP calculator guestimated. I guestimated your weight. No reaction time does not lower your E.T. Clock doesnt start till you release the beam.

Vehicle weight in pounds (including driver)

6200lbs

Trap speed at end of 1/4 mi in m.p.h.

84.75m.p.h.

You are making :295 HP at the rear wheels and 348HP at the flywheel*.

Just do a google for horsepower calculators.

I just ran my lil v8 s-blazer this weekend. Had horrible traction problems. I spun half way thru first and then again on the 2nd gear shift

R.T .286

60' 2.136

330 5.951

1/8 9.16

mph 77.00

1000 11.906

1/4 14.230

mph 96.44

I need some better tires. I never got a good bite. Had wheel hop once so bad thought I'd break so I backed out. it was hot, but had no run problems. I need to bump up to a 750 carb. The 650 just not reving above 5800 rpm freely. All and all I'm happy but I sure wanted a 13 out of it. Better tire's would do it. I had one slight problem though. When I would try to stage I would slide the front tires a couple of inches. I deep staged twice because of this which is an automatic redlight here. I backed out of it once and about missed the light. Hammered it and broke them loose vilontly. oh well. At least I had better luck than the tiberon I was running. He had slicks and nitrous. he supposedly ran solid 13.90's. I know because the anouncer let everybody know I was his next victom. He hit his juce at60 ft and popped his intake tube off. All and All I had fun. just wanted that 13.

Not too bad for stock. Terrible conditions for racing- I got just about the same, but I bet my humidity is higher  Yeah, your times will be better in winter.

You 60' times sems a little slow- did you have any wheel spin ??

Facn8me, I think that 6200lbs is quite a bit off. I doubt my truck weighs that. I'd think an ecsb 2wd is around 54~5500lbs, especially w/out the spare. Not bad times on your S, particularly with wheel spin :D

Then his would be 261 at the tires and 308 at the flywheel give or take at 5500 pds.

Thanks I was kinda happy with mine. Cept for the stagin problem. guess I'm gonna have to leave off idle next time I try.

umm actually i had absolutely no wheel spin however i did manually shift with the lever with tow haul an which allowed me to shift higher but i noticed that my 60' times were slower. but i gained it back by taking second gear close to 5800 which made a 3-4 mph difference in the end. the reason i did that was because when i took my first run i was 5 tenths slower than when i manually shifted. and we all know that just racin with tow haul on lowers the shift points but increases line preasure. with that being said doing this cant be good for the tranny. thats why i am not going to make any more runs until i get my tune. hopefully the tune will take care of shift points. i think the humidity was around 40-50%

Thanks guys
