Seatbelt problem

My center seatbelt in the 2nd row of my 2003 tahoe doesn't always want to pull out all the way. Every once in a while it works ok but most of the time it's like it hits the stop when it is only halfway out.

 

Is this anything you guys have experienced?

Is it common?

If it needs replaced does anyone have a part #?

Do you think the dealer would do anything for me since it's a safety thing even though I'm out of warranty?

 

 

Just wanted to throw this out to see if anyone had any similar problems or knew how I should go about fixing this issue. It is a real pain as it has essentially dropped my capacity by 1 which means not all 3 kids can have a friend at the same time. This causes issues with the kids.

I don't know if this helps or not and I don't know exactly whats going to be replaced or done but GM is going to be recalling some Tahoes/Suburbans/Avalances/Crew-Cabs for the rear center seat belt.

Again I don't know what there going to have us do because the recall is not out yet,They just said that they are going to be recalling them,If yours is involved you should get a letter.

Yes I just got the letter a couple days ago. The letter says all they are going to do is cut a loop off that positions the belt and re-sew the seam. They claim this will allow the seatbelt to sit lower on the hips in the center seat.

 

I was waiting for the recall hoping it would replace the part I'm having problems with but no such luck. I just thought maybe someone would know if GM would try to fix me up since it is such a new vehicle and this is a safety device. You know how freaked out they get about lawsuits so I thought they might do something for me.

 

Funny GM sent the customer letters and havn't done much communication with the dealers yet. Seems a little backwards but it doesn't suprise me.
