Traction Assist

Hi there. I'm new the these boards and I have a question or two for ya'll.

I recently purchased a 2000 Tahoe 5.3 and everytime I start the truck up, the TRACTION OFF light is on. I can press the button and the light goes off untill I turn the engine off and back on.

Any ideas? Has a sensor gone bad? Or is there something wrong with my limited slip?

Also, my windshield washer reservoir if full but the nozzles won't spit out any fluid. I haven't checked to see if the nozzles are clogged but just thought I'd ask to see what others have found that worked. Any help on that is appreciated as well.

I've also just noticed last weekend that my fuel pump is whining all the time. But I've read on here that some of you guys haven't had any problems with it and haven't bothered to have it fixed since it requires dropping the fuel tank.

Thanks in advance.

My guess would be a bad ABS sensor. Any codes?

Regarding the fuel pump, mine failed at 72K. For the last 10K it was louder than originally. I would change the fuel filter immediately and every 10K after that as 1 bad tank of gas can clog the filter and make the pump work overtime.

No codes that I'm aware of. I'm not getting any other lights or notifications. I will change the fuel filter before my road trip this weekend.

Thanks for the advice.

And Robot...can't see the picture, but Yes it's the same, being that my boat is also your landlord's.

yes.

there is a way to change this feature so it defaults to the off position. As stated in the manual it will tell you how to reset that so it is always ON unless you push the button.

Fuel pump, mine made noise up to 120k miles...no probs... sold it, and I sure its still going fine! :seeya:
