Westley Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Hello, I have a 1500 Chevy Silverado I want to change the exhaust system. Which of these systems would be best or what do you recommend? Duel exhaust mono mufflers with 2 exhaust ports coming from the muffler or split tail pipes into two seperate mufflers? Which would sound best? If you have any other options please let me know! Thanks for your help.

mcreyaufmiller Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Most is personal preference. I have the Flowmaster 50 series on my rig, I love the sound, not to loud, not to soft. I get a lot of compliments on the sound. I have seen others dog the FM and swear by another brand. I would find guys with trucks like yours and systems under them. Then find the one you like the most and there you go. Do your research first, don't just buy the first thing you come across. That could be an expensive mistake.
DanMan_S Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I'm one of the guys that swears by magnaflow now. I have the 14x4x9 muffler behind my 5.3L and I find that it sounds awesome. It's the smallest magnaflow so it isn't too quiet (You can hear the truck running right through a building) but the sound is very aggressive and distinct. I had a complete 3" SS, mandrel bent exhaust built for it and there were definite sotp inprovements as well as a significant increase in my gas mileage. From my experience, you probably wouldn't be disappointed with a magnaflow.
