How do I listen to the stereo with the doors open?

May sound and very well may be a stupid questiuon but can you listen to the stereo with the doors open on a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 with a factory stereo??

I just open the doors and turn it up. Or I just roll the windows down and turn it up. If this does not answer your question then I do not understand.

Sorry I should have stated so you dont hear the door open ding ding ding bell

with your door open, reach in the latch area and move the lever back (as it would be when the door is closed), Just remember to pull the door latch handle before trying to close the door.

Not sure about an 02, but on my 04 with door open and key on you can push and hold the #6 preset on the radio until it beeps and the dinger will go off until you close the door and it will reset

The #6 button works, but it will also store whatever station you're currently listening to under #6 preset. Push the button once to take it to station 6, then push and hold to turn off the dinger. From there, I think you can tune it to whatever station you want without the dinger turning back on.
