Alternator hum

Hey guys I have all the equipment in my truck but I still get alternator hum when I play a DVD movie. The DVD player is hard wired into the HU (I orginally thought it was a problem with the fm modulator so I updated with the GM AUX cable but I still have the hum.

My question: Can I stop that crappy noise, and second is there any way to control the DVD player, (it is an Visual logic after market deal i placed in the same place most folks are putting the cdx) thru the H/U. I would really like to be able to control it thru the steering wheel controls. Is this possible?

Once I hard wired mine the whine went away. You can try a noise filter. I had one on mine when I had it thru the fm modulator. I just went to Circiut City in the install shop and they let me borrow one to make sure it cured the problem. Dont know how you could get the steering controls to work the dvd.....good luck

Okay maybe my question was not worded quite right, still trying to solve the noise problem, but what I really want is to be able to control the DVD player thru the radio (ie. fast forward, pause, and mute front, back, etc) bottom line I would like to have the feel of having a factory RSE with the associated h/u functions with my after market DVD player which is mounted where most of you guys have your CDX mounted.
