Oxygen Sensors

I didn't realize how much oxygen sensors were! Anybody know of a good place to get them? And what's a good brand to get?

My repair manual says to use an oxygen sensor socket or the like. . .looks like a normal wrench would work, is that the case?

Thanks!

I went with Bosch o2 sensors when my oems failed at about 70K and they were cheaper than oem. When I replaced them, my mileage went up 2 mpg as it had dropped as the o2 sensors got lazy. The Bosch are going on 80K now so they have outlasted my oems. I track maintenance and mileage on every tankful so looking at a graph of the mileage, it is obvious when the sensors start to go.

Regarding replacement...a regular box wrench worked for me. I soaked them in penetrant overnight and worked them back and forth to loosen any accumulated rust when removing.

Not a tough job by any stretch.

The Bosch platinum plugs and ignition components don't like GM but I would not hesitate to use them elsewhere. Heck, I just put in a Bosch water pump and it too was significantly cheaper than oem.
