Door weather stripping causing leaks...

Hi guys,

I'm getting some leaks (get's pretty bad when it really pours) on the door-to-cab weather stripping.

Also some wind noise at about 60+ MPH.

 

Tried some dielectric grease and seems to only work for a while...

Just wondering how many others are experiencing this and if replacing the weather stripping would solve this?

is it on both sides or just the side w/ the third door? I had the same problem with my silverado, the stuff kept sagging. I eventually put some weatherstipping glue on it and glued it in real tight.

 

some of your wind noise might also be due to your bug shield, it casues the rubber flaps on the side of your windshield to vibrate which makes a "wind" noise. You can fix that with a lil' double sided tape.

I have noticed that I have more wind noise around 60 mph then I did when I bought the truck but until it drowns out the radio I am not going to worry about it.

Had a terrible problem with wind noise on 02 Xcab, dealership replaced weather stripping and solved the problem.

Try bending the top of the door closer to the cab, slightly. Might help mak a tighter seal.

Thanks for the replies,

I noticed today there is no adhesive between the metal tab on the cab and the weather stripping.

(It comes off really easy)

What adhesive would be good for this...3M Weather strip adhesive or similar?

 

I guess I'm mainly concerned about the leaking water.

If the adhesive etc... doesn't work I might try some new ones.

Since pulling my weather stripping down to install my overhead console w/HomeLink mine's loose too. I usually push it firmly into place each time I get into the truck but it still has managed to work itself down a bit by the next time I get in or out. So I might as well get off my.. .. and get some of that weather strip adhesive, I guess.
