Tonneau Covers

Hey guys,

I have it narrowed down to 4 different tonneau covers. Why this is alot, I am wanting some member feedback on them. I was googling a couple and seem to like the "Extang", "Truxedo", "Access", and finally the "Lund". Now, the "Access" being the most expensive at $400+ dollars makes turn away a little bit. But, the lund rollup coming in at the cheapest($250), makes me wonder the quality of that cover. I wanting a low profile cover that roll's up easy and want put a hurting on my wallet. If any of you guys could give some real life feedback, it would be fantastic!!

i'll offer my opinion...i just installed an extang full tilt...i'm partial to extang since i've had them on 2 previous trucks...they last long and i've never had a problem...i wanted a tilt this time but i also wanted snaps so i could roll it up if i was somewhere and needed to haul...it also comes off as one piece for hauling that i've planned...oh...i paid 308 shipped from truckaddons.com

I'll second the Extang Full-Tilt,I love mine, only I went with the "snapless" design for a cleaner look,I can still roll it up when I need to.

Wow.... i went with an Extane Full Tilt also.....had it since May of '04, no problems, i like the lilt for ease of loading and unloading stuff.

Do a search, i want to say i got mine for $279 w/ free shipping.

I'm not for sure of the brand of mine but I got it from Cabelas and it is the one that folds 2 times with the flip of 2 levers and then flip 2 more and it comes off the truck. Very handy with the quick release. I haul my atv in the back and take the cover with me to put on the bed after I unload it just to hide and keep things dry while camping.

I would not go with the Lund Genesis snap style. I just bought on, put it on, took it off after a week. It whipped around in the wind to much and it looked like a covered wagon!

I wouldn't mind the full tilt, but I was looking for a roll up cover. Has anybody tried "Extangs R/T" roll up cover or "Access" or "Truxedo"? Also, what made you choose a full tilt instead of a roll up?

I just got a Leer, mdl 700, that realy looks good. Fits like a glove. Was worried until I had it installed with Company Stating " custom fit". Well it is. Has less than an 1/8 inch all around. Clean, has head liner, hidden cables. You may want to check it out.

Extang is a good cover no matter which style you get, last truck I had I bought the platium cover,The 04 truck I got the Black Max(all the rails, bows are black)and the cover snaps all the way around. So if you want something from the front of the bed you just unsnap whichever side/behind the cab.The platium you can't do that!I paid $219 from summit

I also wanted to keep the SL tailgate cap/plastic wing deal,so I installed some of Summit racings Bed rail covers before I installed the tonneau cover and there is just enough clearance for the tailgate to close without catching on the rubber strip under the rear snap rail.

I had a Full-tilt on my ZR2 when I had it. Nice cover, it can roll up to the front of the bed or you can remove the frame and tarp as a unit, as others mentioned. When I sold the truck, the guy that bought it loved the functionality of it. Chalk up another vote for the FullTilt.

Another vote for the Extang Full-Tilt with snaps, got mine a few weeks ago love it . I painted the rails that stay on a flat black, so it would blend in with my black truck if I have to take it off .

Thanks for the opinions guys!! But, I went by my local "Truck Performance Center" and I am going to get an "Access" cover. That thing is top notch and I just fell in love with it!!
