Well new intake kit is finally in my truck.  It took about an hour and a half including painting the warning on the fan and the raised letters on the fuse box.

Only problem I had was the "service engine soon" light came on when I started it the first time. Shut it off and turned it back one a few times and it kept light kept coming on.  Then I went back disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes then reconnected it.  I started it and the light came on again.  I shut off the engine and restarted it and this time it stayed off.  What caused this, maybe the computer just getting used to the new intake kit?  Hope it stays off.  I'll keep you posted.

Dbl check your connection on the mass air flow sensor.  Disconnect the battery and unplug the MAF and the plug it back in...

Be honest when you post about any performance gains, I'm thinking of getting one.I just don't do many 5000+ rpm runs.  :D

I have the tank filled and going to check my mileage.  I have a small note pad in the truck and I've been keeping track of the milage since I bought it.  I know when I hit the gas now it seems to respond quicker.

When you talk about resetting the computer, what is done,  disconnect the battery?

glad to hear you got it all installed and the underhood painting finished.  Recheck all your wire connections around the MAF Sensor.  Also, unhook the negative battery termial for a good 10 minutes.  I think you need a 7mm socket.

It's running great now.  "Service Engine Soon" light turns off right after the engine turns over.  Guess all I needed was to disconnect the battery.  Thanks for all the advice.
