2002 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 CC SB 8.1 (need info.)

I looking at a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab LT 4WD SB (loaded)

for $18,400 / miles 50,047. Price good? and is there anything I should be warned about the 8.1? I dont have too much info about them. Just post anything I should be looking for.

 

Have a growing family need a bigger truck, thats why.

Greg, that doesn't sound all that bad, though if you do a little more searching you could probably find a Duramax for just $2000-3000 more..as much as I like my 8.1 I'm glad it's not my daily driver...for that I'd roll a Dmax.

I think that is a very good price. 8.1's are hard to come by. The 2-3K more for a D-max is true, if you want one with well over 100K miles on it. That 8.1 books for well more than asking price. Go for it!

I bought my 2002 8.1L EC 4x4 with 125,000 miles on it for $15,900. they are so hard to come by that I had to buy one with the miles. However, my truck was exceptionally well taken care of. It still had the factory sticky plastic on the floors and the back seat, and the paint was flawless except for some rock dings on the hood and the tailgate. Some old guy drove parts from one farm to another in it, and that was it. It even came with the original GM window sticker. Stickered for $43,000 in 2002. I think I got lucky, especially since it is an LT with every avaliable option. Engine doesnt even burn oil, straight highway miles. Im thinking even if the engine failed, I can get a 502 crate to replace it and drive it another 200,000. I love it. I would get the truck if I were you, I think it is a great price.

 

 

BTW, you have a tight truck. Did you only put a 3 inch body lift on it? It looks good.
