2002 Burban Z71

Recommended Posts

Hey all...my vehicle search has expanded...I'm looking at a 2002 Z71 Burban with 95K on it. I'm wondering for those of you out there that have a Z71, or Burban LS,LTfor that matter what your thoughts are. Would you buy again? I need a devils advocate...my wife just tells me the color looks nice or not...I need more of a: this is what I hate, or like opinion. did the Burbans have the slip yoke problems also?

I'm sold my 2001 2500HD 6.0L and have dealt with the nitpicky problems the trucks have had and I wonder if the burbans have the same types also...

thanks in advance again.

I have two Z71 Subs; so that should tell you how much I like them. No slip yoke problems with mine. To date, the only problems I have had are:

Noisy windshield molding – I fixed

Squeaky seatbelts – GM fixed

Erratic fuel gauges - GM fixed

AC bypass valve failure – this was a PIA due to the fact that GM had no clue what the problem was. Finally fixed.

Yes, I would buy again.

So far I like mine. I have had it for about 6 months and 10,000 miles now. Rides very nice, tows the camper and the boat very well. Great for hauling the family places. That third seat is a B!+ch to pull in and out, so if you forsee needing that done on a regular basis, head to the gym... Overall, I love the truck. If I was going to do it again, I would buy the same one. Mine is a 2wd, so I cannot comment on the 4wd systems.

One thing, be ready for stereo problems. That is really the only problem I have had with mine. The stereo, and three of the speakers have been replaced, along with the cassette player. All were under warranty(3 months/3000 miles), so it did not cost me anything, but it was a real pain to keep going in for it.

I do have the erratic fuel gauge, but I just deal with it. I guess I should get it looked at, but it is not that big of a deal.

The wife and I have a 03 Black Z71 suburban and love it. We haven't had any real problems at all. It's great for the family and tows most anything I will ever tow. We would buy one again in a heart beat. You'll be very happy with the suburban. :chevrolet::rolleyes:
