welcome to the baord first of all

definetly go with true duals and a crossover

my exhaust setup

thats what i did and love it total was about 350 for everything including larbor

if you just want a bolt on i would go with a flowmaseter kit or magnaflow kit roughly about 320-350 depending were you get it from

01badgmc, I'm not trying to cuase any fights between us but yours is not a true dual exhuast system, if it was there woudn't be an x pipe in it, just 2 seperate pipes-1 from each side of the engine,

I believe the X pipe is only to lower resonance. The system I had made up definitely is not a true dual system. Just past where the header pipes join together it was cut and feeds a 3" Flowmaster input and comes out with 2 1/2"  dual pipes. Sounds good but it is a little fake. The system 01badgmc has would probably deliver a bit more performance than mine.

red, it is true duals , all the xpipe does is equalize the pressure when the pipes are different lenths, its along the same lines as a hpipe but flows much better and resonates less, i not stating anything just saying that it performs alot better with it and there is no way you can run 2 exact lenth pipes on these trucks, and fyi mustangs  :sarcasm: are true duals and they have a crossover too

If I were to mod my exhaust, I'd want a system like 01 badgmc's truck.  The crossover equalizes back pressure between the cyl. banks and should help reduce resonance in the cab.  I have heard that it will give the sound a "snarl" too.  I think that it also helps keep the torque #'s closer to the stock peak levels rather than moving them higher in the rpm range.

As far as power goes, You won`t see very much of a power gain with the duels over your stock system.. The dyno`s I have seen from just droping off the whole cat -back are about 9 RWHP. The 5.3 (cid) litre doesn`t need big block flow to perform well. If you want the loud sound then go with the full duels and x pipe. Thats a nice racey system. I like the magna flow over the flow master personally..

If you are looking for the most power for the buck.. Iwould stick with HPP3, air induction and ud pulley.. Probably get all three for the money you will spend on a pimpy exhaust sytem for 10 rwhp.. Just sharing what ?I have seen so don`t shoot me..:):D Even my duel 3.5" dumps don`t do much on myu 6 litre.. They sure sound good though..:)
