This is pure speculation.

 

LS2 vs. LQ9

 

LS2 is high compression, more agressive camshaft, different intake ect. I would emagine that these motors have zero in common other than displacement.

The LS2 has 400hp/400ft-lbs of torque and has a 10.9:1 compression ratio (probably requires premium gas) with a cast aluminum block. . .the LQ9 has 300/325hp and 360/375ft-lbs of torque with a 9.4:1 compression ratio, and has a cast iron block.

 

Bore and stroke are the same. Both have aluminum heads.
