Volant Intake?

I'm strongly considering this intake for my '02 5.3L Z71, but I need some help. First, will it give me about the same performance gains as the K&N or AirRaid intake kits? I have had an AirRaid kit before on a Jeep and was hoping to find something a little less noisy this time around. How does the overall build quality of the Volant compare to the others? Finally, how difficult is the install? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I don't have a Volant system so I can't answer you but there is a thread entitled "Volant Air Intake" on this forum under the Product Review section.

Thanks for the info. It looks like the Volant may not be for me. I don't want to spend $250 and not get any better flow than my stock airbox with a K&N drop in filter.

Yeah that's kind of what I think too. I put a K&N drop-in in my truck too and it's ok. While I could'nt tell any difference in performance, I did get a small mpg increase of maybe .5-.75 mpg. You hear so many mixed results from guys about the different air intakes sytems that you don't know what to think about them. The Volant is one of the "cooler" looking systems on the market, as if that matters. That optional drop-down intake looks like a good idea, at least on paper!
