Hi Gm Tech.

 

Just a quick question.

 

I was wondering if there was some website or something like to find out if my truck qualifies for the ABS recall. My truck is a 2000 1500 silverado extra cab Z71. And actually if there are any other recalls I may not know about. I bought the truck used so im not sure if anything has been done.

You could give me your VIN and I can look it up. But I'll tell ya... unless you're in what's considered the "rust belt" states, it doesn't apply. These are mostly states in the Northeast and the midwest.

Yes, but GM of Canada and GM U.S. are two different entities for many things. I would imagine that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in the U.S. is not the same as whatever you guys call it up there. And when there's some sort of forced recall by our federal government doesn't mean the same will happen there.

 

In any case, you do not have the ABS recall listed on your truck. The only recall that has not been completed on your truck is this one...

This is a simple reprogram of the SDM if I recall correctly.
