Suburban CD player issues...

The truck is a '95 Suburban. It has the single disc CD player that is separate from the headunit. It sometimes plays in warmer weather, but most of the time it won't play CDs. Is this thing just dying from old age, or will something like cleaning it out with canned air help?

 

Also, how do you remove the CD player and headunit from the dash without breaking anything?
