So I still want more performance, yet dont want to do a PCM change at this time. So what more can i do?

Will exhaust cut-outs make a noticable difference at highway speeds?

How 'bout those little intake insert "tornado" thingys?

Just trying to sqeek the most from this beast, any thoughts?

For ALL the other money you could spend, nothing will give you the results of a custom tuned ecm.

Don't waste your money on the tornado things, throttle body spacers or any other super-cheap hp builders. There are none.

Get a tune, be blown away and be happy. Each subsequent mod after that will also respond better.

Yeah, I realize that but am concerned with warrenty issues and C.A.R.B. legalities as well.

I think i will call Wester's Garage this morning and talk to them about it.

Thx.

OK! Made my order today! I hope it's as good as EVERYONE has been saying!

Gotta stop spending $$money$$ on these Mods!! What's next????

Mr UPS man just came a knockin at my door with my 4th tune. Lets hope the TC system works and the light goes out. The truck is at the dealer right now so I will have to install later when I get it back. Pretty d**n good customer service. I talked with Lyndon last Tuesday about the 3rd tune not solving the problem and 1 week later I recevie the next one from Canada. Not bad! Cross your fingers boyz.

I dont have TC anymore (traded in my '03), but is your problem isolated to only your vehicle?

Are there issues i might have with the new tuning?

I hope this next one does the trick!

Also, what do I expect to have to suffer thru when i replace the PCM w/ the Wester's? Do i have to relearn the key's and everything like that ie; crank relearn and security system?

Major pain or what?

tThe first 2 times I had to do the crank relearn. It's no biggy. I detailed the truck and every 10 minutes turned the key and looked at the clock to know when I had to do it again. You might just get lucky like I did last week on the third tune b/c it started right up. The only tool you need is a 7mm socket.

Trever, all ecms will need an idle relearn done, no way around it. A 5 minute procedure, or it'll do it on it's own.

Security relearn is hit and miss- some will, some won't.

Same with the crank relearn- there simply is no way to tell in advance- some will, some won't.

None are hard. The crank relearn is the biggest hassle, you might have to see someone with a Tech2 or equivilant. Just don't get gouged for more than $40~50. I've heard some crazy stories on this :D

I have some write-ups for the idle and security learns, and the ecm swap itself. Let me know if you want the links ;)

If i need a crank relearn will the truck be running at all so i can drive it to a tech II? Or will it be inop? If i have issues can i reinstall the original PCM without issue?

Just a little nervous about this, i have blown a PCM in the past and was out of a truck and $500 for a week!

The passkey and idle relearn dont stress me but the crank relearn is somthing i would need professional help for.

It will drive fine, and in fact would do so forever, you just would have to live with the SES light being on.
