4WD Issues

I tried last weekend to switch into 4LO, and it made a couple of loud clanking noises, and then it wouldn't engage, so it kicked it back into 2HI. It did the same thing when I tried to switch it into 4HI, but 4HI worked fine the next day. Also, my service 4WD light comes on in the dash from time to time. Do you have any idea what might be wrong before I take it to the dealer? Thanks!

Make sure you're in N and completely stopped to get into 4LO. That "Service 4WD" usually means you need a new switch. Easy fix. Buy it from the parts dept.
