I went with Wester's for reliability. Yes it cost a lot more but i got what it paid for! I also got written instructions :banghead: Sorry, couldn't resist!. Look below and towards the right of your battery! Black cover unsnaps.

I have had a Westers tune in my Silverado for over a year now and I love it. Worth every penny and if/when I trade trucks some day, I have a credit at Westers towards a new one for my new ride.

I have not been around any others, but I am very happy with my tune and I have had ZERO problems or "quirks" associated with it.

I got the wait4me tune for 01 yukon 5.3 with 3.73 installed @ 55k and the trany went @ 57k :banghead: the truck ran great with the tune I don't know if it had anything to do with the tranny going out but it makes me wonder because the trany has been well taken care of with fluid and filter changers @ 25k & 50k and limitted towing of 3k trailer. I will calling Jessie for his in put. The truck is going Monday am for the tranny work. The shop road tested it to day and said somthing inside broke because fluid presure is getting to 1st & 2nd gear clutches @ the same time.

I went with the wait4me tune because of the price and amount of fanfare it received on forums similar to this one. After the tune and the CASE learn it cost me $260. I've had the tune for a few months now and am satisfied with it, but at the same time I kind of wished I had gotten my truck dyno tuned as opposed to the mail order. If you plan on many further mods, go with the mail order, Jesse does a decent job though I have heard some complaints. If your truck is pretty much how you want it spend a little extra money and get it dyno tuned. Can't beat it.

Is the tune completely inactive until the case relearn is done :shakehead: just curious because I just installed mine and got nothing out of it. Hopefully monday when the local mechanics shop opens up I,ll have the crank relearn done and it will come alive .

Crank relearn will not affect performance from what i've read. It only allows a misfire to be read properly. You need to "teach" the new tune by driving hard for the first 100 miles or so with WOT and Hard take off's. Takes a few days to really get it.

Superchips makes some nice stuff. If you really want some tuneability, and if you're fairly mechanically inclined, you might even look into a handheld programmer. Hypertech makes a great setup for Chevys.

I have the Westers tune in my truck for nearly a month now. Just totally love what it has done for the performance. When I need to step on it to respond to the fire station it gets me there.

Have a great truckin day.

    • Are you going to take long trips in it?  If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.
    • I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.
    • I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE.
