Hi,

So today I found that my PCV valve had popped out off of the engine. It was still connected to the pipe and everything just off of the engine. I had noticed about 2 weeks ago that I was using more oil (from under the truck, I could see some oil stains that had made its way to the rear of the engine) but didn't have time to open the doghouse area to see the whole engine (SAVANA cargo van). My question is, what could cause the PCV valve to pop off of the engine? The old valve sounded exactly the same as a new valve it only looked a little grimey but still seemed to work. In any case I replaced the valve with a new one just in case but I still would like to know what was causing it to come out?

BTW: 2000 GMC SAVANA 217K w/ a 5.0L

Thanks,

Luke
