XM, Ipod and CDX and DVD Audio on NAV

So much great info on this site. Thanks to everyone for all their great input.

Enough ass-kissing...here is my quesiton.

I have a 2003 ENVOY SLT and have just recently installed a Touch NAV unit as well as the USA-SPEC SCD-G7i Cd-changer. All is working well. THE CDX control on the HU works well as do the steering wheel controls.

My quesion is this...I would like to max out the entertainment value of the HU.

Can I add modules to control all the following functions:

1) Retain CDX Control

2) Ipod control through HU and Steering wheel.

3) XM (or Sirius) radio with HU control

4) DVD-audio input

5) DVD-Video input through NAV HU Screen.

 

I know it's a lot but I though I would ask.

You can get ipod kits that Emulate either Cd changer or XM, and allow control.

I would suggest adding on a Factory XM module, then an Ipod Kit, and a Nav-TV module for your video input into the screen. The ipod kit will most likely also have a Aux input for the DVD audio/video Input. You can still add a CDX and have the ipod emulate XM, but if you still wanted that and XM, you would have to have a switch to go between them, and much additional wiring. Just not worth it when you have 1000s of songs on ipod.

You can still add a CDX and have the ipod emulate XM, but if you still wanted that and XM, you would have to have a switch to go between them, and much additional wiring. Just not worth it when you have 1000s of songs on ipod.

Although I didn't hook up an iPod, I did swap out the factory slave 6-CD changer for a Pioneer motorized touchscreen DVD headunit which can also play MP3 CDs. A worthwhile swap since not only can I play DVD videos (and output said video to the rear headrest monitors) on it, I can listen to tons of MP3s without having to frequently swap discs--I mean, just one MP3 CD encoded even at 160 kbps can hold more songs than a 6-CD non-MP3 changer.
