Long Bed Trucks

Can somebody tell me how many stake holes are on each side of a long (8') bed?  I'm asking as can get a great deal on some OEM bed rail caps.  Problem is, I have a short bed and they are for a long bed.  Was hoping I could cut them at the front (i.e., right behind the cab) to fit.  I could cut a "new" front stake hole to match the hole in my short bed but if the long beds have a 3rd hole in the middle I don't want a rail caps with a "blank" hole.

yes I do believe that the long beds have three stake wholes.

Silverado man would be correct, short bed trucks have one on each end, and long bed have one on each end and one in the middle, so it won't line up correctly if you mod a long bed cover to work on a short bed.
