Windshild Molding

Recommended Posts

Came out this morning and realized that the windshield molding along the bottom of the windshield on the drivers side has popped out. It would appear the little plastic piece that covers the hood hinge on the drivers side has apparently warped or somthing. I took the cover off and could not find a way to anchor the plastic piece with the rubber back down so now I have this huge freekin gap between the windshield and the rubber molding. I would rather avoid going back to the dealer, can anyone help?

A picture might help to understand the issue better. What held it in place originally?

O.K.Here is a pic and diagram

Dooes not appear to have anything to hold it in place. It is a molded piece that is supposed to press fit against the windshield.

Would heating it with a hair dryer help it to return to it's original position? If nothing held it there originally would a piece of double sided tape hold it? I would look to see how mine is but the difference in years and style might negate that.

After thinking a little more if it's like mine I doubt the tape idea would work... If nothing else I would try taking it off and bending it a little.
