mufflers??

Who makes a exhaust muffler that is easy to install on the factory exhaust 2000 chevy Z71  that has a deep rumble sound to it but nothing like a nascar decible level?  I'm interested in just replacing my muffler instead of getting the intire cat back system for now. I don't think I really need the extra ponies at  this point but I would like a more powerful sound. any suggestions and places/prices I can get would be great. thanks.

A lot of shops can drop in a Magnaflow - they get decent marks for what you are describing. :music:

That actually is a decent idea.  Your truck already has a stainless exhaust under it, and if you transplant a different muffler and add a custom exhaust tip, you'll have a nice system for about half the $$$.

I went to Midas and had them put on a flowmaster 70  which has that rumble outside but not that noisy inside. Since the factory pipes are 3" just replace the muff, and put on a tip and your gone. If you go the flowmaster web site they have sound clips of their different mufflers to give you an idea of what they sound like.....

 I was thinking the same thing Shaners. I wouldn't mind a cat back system but really I don't need it and If I can save $200 or more and still get the sound I want then I think that's a better way to go for now. at least until I want to put some work into the engine or air flow.
