My '03 GMC 2500HD's Warranty ran out it has only 24,300 miles and i am thinking of keeping it a year more or maybe two not sure yet anyhow i didn't buy the extra warranty when i got the truck and the sales mang. told me GM would send me info on buying the extra warranty a year before mine ran out , will that has come and gone and i never thought anything about it till i went to the local dealer to have the oil changed so when i got home i called the dealership i bought it from and talked to the sale's man i got the truck from he said it would be about $2,458 for a 4yr. 75,000 mile warranty this seems like alot it is bumper to bumper but when you sit down and read the papers it really don't cover very much . has anybody else bought a extra warranty after there's ran out ? how much did it cost and from whom did you get it from? Thanks !

I used to in a Nissan service department as a service writer a few years ago and the best X-Warr I dealt with was easily Universal Underwriters. They are easy to work with for the customer and the service department. They cover a lot of items (depending on your coverage...Comprehensive covers almost everything). They were not cheap though $2800 sounds about right for good coverage. I would look into Universal-they are excepted in most places across the country. Hope this helps.

Your price on those extendeds is always going to increase as you get closer to the expiration of the vehicle's factory warranty. At least all the ones I looked at were setup that way.

I hate to spend to much since i might only have this truck for a year or two more . Has anybody heard of Warranty Direct ? a friend that my wife works with said they have it on there truck think she told me 4yrs , 75,000 mile warranty was around $1,200-$1,400 bumper to bumper with a $100 ded. also told her about another place AAAutowarranty or something like that ? they got them of the internet then i guess they talked with them on phone, has anybody heard of either one ?

$1200-$1400 Bump to Bump is to good of a price to cover very many things. Especially when a vehicle is getting up there in miles and repais will become more frequent. I used to deal with so many half assed companies promising the "bumper to bumper" coverage. They were always the cheap ones. There are a lot of BS companies, BEWARE!

There was a long discussion on Dieselplace.com. GMPP was the only one that I would buy. There is a HUGE markup at the dealers. A dealer in Taxas offered a reasonable price.

FYI, dealership extended warranties are completely negotiable. My father in law owned a Chevy dealership amd told me that they are like everything else they sell, there is always room for negotiation. Dealers make an immense profit on EWs

I have about 10k miles left on my HD and I just got the GMPP off in the mail on Friday. The prices range from $1290-1730 with a $100 deductible for a vehicle with 24k-36k miles. It looks like the term is for 36mths or 54000 miles.
