Hello. Im new to the forum, not 100% sure I am posting this to the right place but here goes.

I have a 2001 Crew Cab S10 with 45688 miles, And the 4.3L V6

2 days ago after being parked for about 10 mins I went to start my truck and while it started it only ran at about 400RPM for about 10 seconds before stalling, I then restarted the truck, it took a little more then usual to get it runing but it started, and ran okay home.

As I was pulling into the driveway the truck again stalled out, but this time I had a complete electrical failure, no lights or anything, so I waited about 20 mins and got the truck started, but it would only run at 400RPM, and when steping on the gas it sounded like I was misfiring, but I had no warning lights or anything, the truck also stalled repeatively.

Thinking I had a electrical issue I used a Digital Voltage Meter to mesure voltage with the truck runing and off.

12.7V when off.

14.5V when running.

The next day I took the truck to the dealership to have it looked at, It started and ran okay to the dealership.

The dealership claimed the only thing they found was over corroded possitive battery terminal and cleaned and replaced the bolt for it.

All was well until this morning when the truck was hard to start again, and at one point when changing from reverse to forward it sunk down to 400 RPM for a moment.

Occationally when the truck has about a half tank of gas I get a humm from the rear end. I mentioned this to the dealership but they couldnt replicate it. I know its not a wheel bearing as they inspected both wheels were for that.

Am I lossing a fuel pump? or do I have a more sinsiter issue.

Thanks, Matthew

Hey man, how's it going. I would start with the easiest thing first, you know how that always works out  Well anyways, I had the same problem with my truck last year and was asking all my friends what it could have been. I got all kinds of different answers. I thought I was in for an expensive shop job, but I did another once over before I took it in. While inspecting my truck I realized the water was really low in the battery. I filled it back up and it was good to go, and it ran like new. I would check the water level in your battery before going any further.
