2005 cd/cassette radio, no xm

I just bought a 2005 Yukon XL one month ago, and the cd player will not recognize all cd's, I'm talking origional, not copys, and when it does play them the quality is horrible. I will be taking it back to the dealer, but I was wondering if this is a common problem, maybe a simple fix such as a crazy ritual like resetting the oil change-o-meter.

ive noticed teh same thing with my truck...when i shut the truck off with a cd in (a real one) and then start the truck again it wont' recognize it until i take it out and put it back in

maybe it is the record company, I just tried a cd from MCA, it worked, then one from Electra, no go, then a small outfit from Cambridge, poor quality and skips, sounds like am radio.

I have tested this with many different cd's. The player in my truck is also screwed up.

went to the dealer today, tried to reprogram the cd player, this did not work. A new unit is on the way.
