I have an '01 Silverado, the interior isa light to med gray color...the lid of my center console (sometimes called a jumpseat) has broken (which i hear is common)...to fix it i have to buy a completely new console...is there any differences in the installation of the center jumpseat and the actual middle console option? if i must replace it, i would like to go with the center console because i can store more junk then in the jumpseat console, but im not sure what all i have to consider when doing this...any and all help is greatly appreciated

I replaced my middle jumpseat with a full length center console. You have to take out both front seats to remove the middle jumpseat. The console has a metal mounting plate that bolts to the floor in place of the jumpseat. Then the console bolts to that. Check eBay for the console...I see them on there all the time.

My seat covers are synthetic leather look alike...look like leather, feel like vinyl. Keep looking on eBay...they pop up once in a while. As far as painting interior parts...you have to use the right paint. I think you need a flex agent to promote adhesion. Check out GMFullsize.com...a bunch of guys have painted their interiors. :D
