Alright, i tried to stop at a stop sign earlier today while at work. Parked the truck, started it up and drove home when i got to my driveway I noticed that the ABS light was on and when I shut off the truck the door dinger was dingin' with the lights in the normal automatic position and the key out. I started the truck up again to see if maybe the ABS light would go off, but nothing. The light is still on... I just clicked 50000 miles, is there something with our trucks around 50000 miles?

Thanks guys and input would be great.

Have you checked your brake fluid? Your truck has the right amount of miles for the fluid to be mostly in the caliper pistons...

If you add any, it might be a good idea to take some back out when you replace your front brakes.

This guy fixed his once by adding fluid...

Unfortunately at this time of year, it's pretty likely in the rust belt states for salty water to get on the sensors inside the wheel hubs, so you might just have an obscured sensor. If you have this, the light won't come on after a fresh start until you start moving.

Mike... Thanks for the input! Actually, i have a set of Husky rubber floor mats on the floor of my truck, I usually push mine way up under the gas pedel to do away with the bouncy fly by wire throttle system (it seems to give the pedal a little more friction for me). Well This morning i was driving and i went to push my ass back on the seat a little and slid the floor matt back with me. Well as soon as i did the light went off. Do you think maybe there is something up under the dashboard that the floor mat was hitting?

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the rubber mat was restraining the rod from the master cylinder from pushing the brake pedal all the way to its "up" position... but it's just a guess.

That could be... I wouldn't think there is anything under the dash other than what your are telling me. But maybe if that floor mat was sitting on the rod and keeping it from coming back up all the way, maybe it threw a sensor, thinking there was another reason why the rod wasnt coming all the way back up. I'll keep ya posted if it comes on again, but so far it hasnt since I moved the mat.
