I just bought a 96 gmc sierra 1500. The guy didnt have any of the normal books with the vehicle. How do i find out what my truck has in it. I know it has a 5.7L vortec 350. He has put on a flow master exhaust but i dont know what kind, how do i figure that out. what gears come on these trucks. I just put on an AEM Bruteforce intake on and would like to get a custom tuned chip and need to know all the info.

INside your glovebox lild there should be a list of codes. These will have your options on them. I am not sure how to find out what they are, maybe someone here will have a link??

We have the RPO Codes right her on this very forum. Look in the upper right under Registry, or just go here:

what I did was took my vin number to the dealer service department. With a bit of sweet talking they ran the vin and it pulled up all the info on the truck.

96 up use flash programming so you either have to get a programmer or have someone do a tune.
