Does this engine have a single barrel carburetor? Is yes, then the horsepower is probably in the 110-140 HP range. Early 80s cars and trucks had pretty low HP output engines. My 83 Pontiac Bonnevilles (yes I had two) had 110 HP for 3.8 liter V6 with a 2 barrel carburetor, and 150 HP for a 5.0 liter V8 with a 4 barrel carburetor.

As far as mileage, goes, is this a 2 WD regular cab truck? If yes, expect about 15 -16 MPG combined, slightly more on the highway. Does the truck have an auto transmission?
