VUE Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 I posted this in the tech help area before I realized there is a separate Radio & Sound forum so the other post can be deleted I suppose, but anyway... I have a 2006 VUE but I noticed two things: 1) The 2007 Tahoe has a similar looking base head unit as my VUE and 2) the 2007 Tahoe has navigation. So, I purchased a 2007 Tahoe factory navigation unit to try and install in my VUE. Risky, but sometimes that pays off. BTW, it did not come with an antenna or DVD. I plan on getting those (more money not to waste yet) when/if the head unit appears to work in my VUE. The connections to the Tahoe nav look like this: http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/showphoto...o/27313/cat/500 The wires to the original VUE radio fit perfectly to #1 and #2 as labeled in the pic. Here are my first questions: 1. What connections go to #3 and #4 of the labeled pic? (i.e. does the nav antenna go to one of those or both of those or something else?) 2. What is the turquise colored input for? (or is that for the nav antenna?) With the Tahoe nav unit in my VUE with #1 and #2 sockets filled (as labeled in my pic) and the radio antenna plugged in, the head unit shows no life. Here are my next questions: 3. Is it possible the harness is the same but the wires are in a different order than the VUE? (this auction confirms that the base units of the two vehicles should use the same harness: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=9702160002 ) 4. Where is the best place to get a label of the connections on back of the nav unit (what each wire is for)? (the dealer? anywhere online, so I can get it tonight?) 5. I thought even if it may need to be programmed at the dealer at least it would turn on, is that a bad assumption? Any suggestions/comments? TIA
