Flex-a-Lite Fans for 99+

advance auto used to sell an imperial 18" fan that was perfect for our trucks but they discontinued them for some reason.

still has a dual 16" that pulls over 250cfm for $450, next time I get a bonus i'm gonna buy that one

The Flex-a-Lite #280 is a relatively new kit made especially for our trucks. They are overpriced, but exactly what I want. I am hopeing to find a good price on them so I wont feel so bad about this particular mod. :lookaround:

Who carries these (FLX-280) right now?

I didn't find them at Jeggs, Summit, or TruckPerformance.

Maybe we could get enough interest to do a group purchase thing.

Automotive Engineering can get them for $492

TByrne can get them for $460

I can get them locally for $420

You have probably heard it before, but I have F-Body fans. It's getting around 90* down here in Houston now and with both of them on city driving, the temp still runs @ 170-180. On the highway where I do most of my driving I really don't even need them on. The only thing I haven't done YET is put a thermostatic controller on them yet. I also got them for $75 used, $35 for the wiring and took about 2 hours to put in. Just my $0.02.

Is there a how-to somewhere on this?

I am looking for an install-it-and-forget-it type mod (except at the gas pump).

$110 beats the heck out of $400

I would also like something that looked stock/professional.

The price on my 250 kit was steep ($380-ish if I remember correctly) but I convinced myself the savings in gas with the mileage increase would eventually pay for itself and then some.. if it helps any to think of it in that way. :sideways:
