I really feel the differance

cant believe it , but just by adding the Airaid tube alone $94.00 plus a K and N drop in and a flowmaster 70 series, the tube made the biggest differance. Throttle responce in neck jerking. I was amazed when I pulled the old GM tube how darn big and strange it looked. Now Im waiting for MPG. I will let you all know when I clock it. By the way I have a 5.3 burb . It is much louder when you get on it but quite while cruising. Hope it doesnt trigger a check engine light.

Sounds much like what I have in my YukonXL, except I have the Gibson cat-back.

The sound was much better when I added the AirRaid and K&N filter.

You'll be happy.

MPG....well, didn't really see any difference. It not less than before for sure...which is good.

What exactly is an airraid? My apologies for a stupid question.

Airaid:

Airaid Info

I've put the Airaid filter and cold air intake on my 04 Silverado, along with hi-flow cats and a Magna Flow Muffler.

Power wise, there is a difference, nothing huge, moderate, high end on my truck. As for M.P.G.............., not happening. I wanted a few more horseys to pull the 5th and thats what I got, I'm happy.

I can't see there a filter and intake tube makes that much of a difference. I would doubt that there would be more than 3 hp. I would love to see actual before and after dyno numbers. But as long as you like it then great as my opinion won't affect you.

I would agree I've read hundreds of articles across many boards where this has ben debated as to SOTP dyno results vs. a real dyno and the HP increase has never been more than 3 to 5 HP and that wasn't achieved until the upper part of the RPM range which has little to no affect for the average driver.

The stock set up flows more air than needed (proven and tested over and over again) Most folks mistake the new growl of an open filter element or non stock tube set up as new found HP which unfortunately is not true...... If you feel that it helps your trucks performance than that's all that matters enjoy

I know it sounds to good to be true, but the power I feel is right off the start, the throttle response is where its at. It feels jerky and now I have to ease the gas. Im not that dumb , if anything the top end is the same. I dont like the noise ( wife has already commented about that ). but maybe in my case the combo just worked our right.

I predict gas will be north of $3 a gallon this summer. So all of my power mods are day dreams at this point. We have been talking about trading in the Titan. I am liking the new FJ Cruiser from Toyota. Never thought I would say that I like a Toyota. However, it does go much faster than the Jeep and Hummer both. Anyhow - I would love to put some power mods on my Z71... It just does not look economical. If I do... I will definately be logging my MPG to find out if it worked.

On another note... I read the long term test results of a 2004 Silverado Hybrid. Not good. Everything I gathered from the article said to steer clear. The vehicle saves about 1-1.5 mpg but the trade off is horrible. The lag time between the starting and stopping of the engine while braking is really a mess. It is like driving a manual as the truck will roll if your on a hill and the engine is starting back up.

I'm not sure how throttle tip in could be improved w/a drop in K&N filter, AirAid tube and FM70, but as long as you're happy that's all that matters

North of $3 bucks a gallon.......It's already gone north of $4.15 a gallon here in Vancouver, Canada

Yeah and the gas companies say they aren't gouging!!!

My ass they aren't... Guess no major road trips this year.

Between the price of gas and the whole Passport at the border thing it will be interesting to see if Tourism drops....

$4.40 a gallon here in Victoria, BC Canada....
