It all depends on how much you want to invest in it. And what you want to do. Do you want a show truck, restore it, or something to play around with? Iv'e fixed up a good bit of vehicles, no matter what you are gonna do, it will take alot of time and resources. The first thing I usually do is make sure I can drive it around safely. Make sure the motor is sound or the brakes wont fail, etc. Then I start on the modifications or adding on. It just depends on what path you want to take.

What do you want to do to the truck? Do you want to put a bigger motor? Do you want to just make it into a hot rod? It all depends on what you want to do with it.

There are more parts out there for that series/model year than you can shake a stick at to mod it anyway you want. You need to decide what you want to do with first. What will it be used for and how you want it to look, raised, lowered, hauler, show, trailer queen, everyday driver, weekend crusier, etc Just order a bunch of catalogs to get some ideas on where you can go. LMC Truck, classic industries, the list is endless. All you need is the cab and you can buy everything else brand new and bolt it on. Just open up your checkbook and get busy.
