Removing window crank

From what I have read here in the past is very easy to remove the door panels. Remove the small triangle covering the Mirror mount and pull the door from the bottom releasing the clips.

I have Manual door cranks. therefore I must remove them first.

This may be a simple question for some but how do you remove the window crank handles?

Will the door panel pop up if that is removed?

2003 regular cab.

Thanks.

On my old pickup there was a U shaped wire clip that held the handle on the little spline shaft. I think they make some sort of two prong tool to remove the clip, but I've always used a long skinny screwdriver. Just push in on the plastic door panel until you see the clip and push both sides off the handle. The handle should then pull off the shaft.

Beware to anyone performing this operation, that clip shoots off there like a rocket. I was doing this outside and I bet I never find it until after I buy a new one. Drat, well at least I fixed my problem with the outside door handle :-)

I used two screw drivers that had blades approximately 1/4" in width. Pushing with both, off it came. Thanks all.

I just put speakers in my truck and have everything back together except the window crank. Any technique getting that bastard of a clip back on there?

Put the clip in place on the handle, and then push the handle onto the shaft.

I'll follow the trend.
