How to delete change engine oil light?

Can someone tell me how to stop the change engine oil light from flashing on my AV?  I have changed the oil.

Turn the ignition to the "run" position (don't start the truck).

 

Immediatly push the accelerator to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds, and then shut the key off.

 

This should reset the light.

 

This doesn't always work the first time, and may have to be repeated.  Make sure you bury the accelerator to the floor board for best results!!!

That is how you do it, but the last time you depress the accelerator if you hold it down until the message center flashes this will for sure reset any mesage that doesn't go away.

After the 3rd press of the acc. pedal, the "change oil" message will flash if the computer accepted the input.  If it doesn't flash, try, try again.  My truck takes a few seconds to boot up the message center, then the change oil message flashes.
