Xenon Bulbs

I just bought a complete set of Xenon bulbs for my 2002 silverado. I cannot wait to recieve them in the mail. I got the Super White 80Watt lows beams and 100Wait High beams and the Super HID foglight bulbs. Does anyone else have Xenon bulbs. I talked to a guy that said these will give off a hint of blue light which is cool because my truck is blue. Does anyone have pictures at night of these on. Is the increase in the wattage of the new bulbs going to be a problem? Has anyone had a problem with these lights?

Sorry to tell you, but you did not buy real HID lights.  You just bought an over-wattage bulb that will probably have a blue tint on the glass.  Real HID lighting is not rated in watts...watch out for you headlight wiring...if you are tring to pull too much current through your wires, you can burn them up.

If you are fairly knowledgeable about wiring, install relays.  I( or someone else listening) can show you a diagram.  It should cost you less than $25 to do a high grade job in about 1-2 hours.  I haven't done it on my Z yet, but I probably will.

 

I have heard of a lot of people with diesels doing relays alone to their lights and noticing a difference.

IndigoZ - I recently purchased 55w Xenon bulbs from Showparts.com.  They are much brighter than the stock and have a nice blue tint (I have an Indigo Blue Chev as well).  Their website indicates that the higher wattage bulbs don't cause any problems (I used some electrical grease for the connections).  Furthermore, the glass is not tinted, they are actually filled with Xenon gas.  If I had a digital camera I would take a picture and post.
