Code P0179

Hey guys

 

Just picked up an 03 Sierra. Not overly impressed with the truck so far, but thats another story.

 

I'm getting code P0719 coming up, and my cruise control is inop. Also, you can put the truck in gear without pushing on the brake. The brake lights work fine though. Still a problem with the switch? Is there any way to test it?

Sorry to hear about ANY troubles with a GM product, but it happens.

 

The code p0719 means "Brake Switch 2 Circuit Low Voltage".

 

This is why you can engage the tranmission without pushing the brake. I could open my manuals leter and see how to test it. I also don't know if that has anything to do with your Cruise Inop. But I will see what the Service Manual says. I just noticed you asked the GM Tech, he can give you a better answer.
