Silverado Aluminum Wheels

I have a 2003 Silverado 2wd. It has newer tires on it and the Chevrolet 16" Chrome wheels. The tire size is 235/75/16. If I want to upgrade to 16" Stock Aluminum wheels that I can buy off Ebay, will they fit? I know there was an option for wider tires. If they do not fit or I decide to get new tires anyway because the tires on it are not the best type of tires, is there a benefit to getting the wider tires on it?

The wheels will fit just fine, including the 17" wheels. What you might need to do though is have the computer reprogrammed with the new tire size so that your speed and odometer report correctly. That can be done with a handheld programmer or a trip to the local dealer.

The tires will fit fine. I just got new tires and the ones I took off were 235/75/16's. The new ones are 235/85/16's which are the same width but a littler taller. Wider tires will corner better and will give better traction if you're a lead-foot. Narrower tires will help the fuel economy very very slightly.

Thanks for the info. I might replace the tires anyway. It has Good Year Wrangler ST's which came stock on it. They person who owned it before me just replaced them before he sold it. From what I read online this is not a good tire. They say it has terrible snow and wet traction. Anyone on this forum have experience with these tires?
