Load Leveling Shocks?

This is probably going to sound like a dumb question, but how do I tell if I have regular shocks or load leveling shocks?

 

I'm looking into a FabTech 3" lift for my 01 Suburban 2wd and they only mention a kit if its equipped with load leveling shocks.

 

Other than it being load leveling, what is the physcial difference between a regular shock and a load leveling one?

Well on my 05 Yukon Denali, I can hear them wurrrrrr shortly after startup... the same goes for my dad's 04 Cadillac Escalade.

I think you may be talking about Auto Ride. From what I can fugure out, there is regular shocks, load leveling shocks and auto ride shocks.
