I need some advice

Hi, well I got a 05 siverado 2wd reg cab short bed. It's my first new truck and its a base model, when I bought it the only option was A/C. But I just got back from Iraq and have some money to put into it. I really have no idea what I need. I don't know if if I should level it or lift it, if I lift it I don't much more than 3". I've looked around and can't find much info on either, like they don't make much for it. My goals basically are, I want it to look cool, I don't want to do anything that will completely screw me on the warrenty, and I want it do perform well, ie. ride well and not destroy the gas mileage. I also have no idea about tires and wheels that I can fit with what ever I do. I'm thinking I want to put 15" rims on it with probaby 30's or 31's but don't know about width. I definitelly need some advise, I hope someones got some. Thanks

15" rims will not fit. The 05's have bigger brakes than the 04's,I don't think that 16's will fit.guys with 2WD usually lower there trucks and put 20's on it.

yeah he's right. 15's wont fit, nor will 16's. i just lifted my '05, but it's 4x4. fabtech or superlift i believe makes you a lift. any lift will void your warranty, sort of. i live in j'ville, and Marine Chevrolet are not the nicest of individuals when it comes to lifting and aftermarket stuff. they gave me crap about the 30,000 miles of free oil changes. because i had lifted my truck that voided my free oil change. but guess who changed my oil. (marine chevy) go to www.fullsizechevy.com for your setup and tire size. they have an actual sticky to post your setup. tires sizes, the way a lift looks, how high your fenderwells will be, etc. you can also search here for tire sizes and stuff. i got the V-6 with 373 gears, 6in fabtech lift, pro comp 35x12.5x17in tires. love it, no problem with V-6 or gears. anymore questions, just shoot us a line and let us know what you do. matt

I can see why a dealer would fuss about warranty. ALso if you think 35's with a 4.3 and 3.73 is a good combo, you have very low perfomance standards for a truck because it will be a slug with that combo and OD will be worthless and you are doing a slow kill of tranny too.

^^^My Blazer is nowhere near fast and it is smaller, has the V6, and 3.42 rear end. Put in some 4.56s to save the tranny.
