its been a whole year now and i ask myself how i feel about my truck. i love the truck. its looks, handling, style. however, i am concerned about the dependability. its been in the shop for cold engine knocking, yoke, steering shaft, abs module, and the right/front seat belt. as i ponder, i am happy that i have had no serious trouble and everything was fixed under the manufacture warranty...which is over in another 1,000 miles! i am concerned of what is next go wrong, or seeing that so much has been fixed maybe it will be very dependable for the rest of the time i will own it. buying a new truck has passed my mind. but in the mean time, i am glad to say for the most part owning my first gmc, has been exciting and adventurous. glad i passed up the F-150 and RAM.

Punn,

Yeah, I am feeling about the same as you, even though I have had mine for 3 1/2 yrs.  Assuming you listed most or all of your issues, then my list is actually longer than that, but I still feel the same - I love this truck!!

Despite all the problems, some picky on my part, the rig is always there and ready for me, does the job, and does it well.  :)

Admittedly, there are problems that shouldn't be there, really, and GM can be frustrating as h*ll at times, but I still like the feel better than Fo** or Do***.  And this is coming from a former Fo** fan (in my younger days - hadn't seen the light yet! )

From what I know now, if and when I buy the new one, I may negotiate a longer warranty - at least major guard type thing.  Don't know, need to look into it when the time comes.

Glad you feel the same about your ride!!    :D

What kind of seatbelt problem did you have, although mine is an '02, my passenger side seatbelt locks as soon as you put it on and never lets go, it keeps getting tighter everytime you move! Been thinking about taking it in or just trying someone elses to see if it locks a lot too!

I have had my 2001 Tahoe for a year now and I constantly run the crap out it.  Man it is one tough vehicle, I have hauled it down to O from high speeds over and over again and still have no brake problems.  I have had Jeeps and mustangs and usually eat new rotors in 5,000 to 7000 miles, and this truck weights a #### of alot more and it is up to 16000!!! I have my foot in it all the time.  I have noticed the same seat belt problem you have Silverado WV,  I noticed it is worse about locking up when the seat is reclining back a ways,  try it in the upright and the belt doesn't lock on mine.  I also have a rattling window on the pass side, just haven't bothered to get it in yet.   Overall,  one tough butt vehicle!!!

I have a reg cab and any less reclined is too uncomfortable! That could be the problem, except my drivers side works great whenever I have it back all the way!?
