Electric fans and pulleys

I've been trying to squeeze a bit better mileage out of my 97 Z71 pickup (5.7), and have already put a low restriction air filter, cat-back exhaust and reprogramming, but I really haven't seen any improvement in mileage. Has anyone had experience in pulling the engine driven fan and going to electric fans, and maybe changing out the pulleys to get less drag? If so, did you see any improvement in mileage? (I haven't seen any pulley kits, but I'm guessing there's some out there) Even squeezing one MPG would be a success.

Thanx

E- fans should help but are expensive. Have you tried to change your driving habits....? 1 mpg should be easy to get unless your already 'driving for economy'.

I have researched the e fan thing pretty good and the general consenus is that if your fan clutch is working properly, it is pulling very little HP most of the time. IN other words, when it is not locked in, it is pulling almost no HP.

I searched this on a towing site also because I tow with mine and the towing community does not recommend e fans.

The other thing to consider is alternator draw. These things really pull on a charging system.
