and im enjoying it already.... gotta 5.3 vortec in a 2003 silverado ext. cab. any problems that are common with this model/year? thanks for your help. new to the boards and already read alotta information and made my decisions on my exhaust and intake due to reviews from here.

Hey...Welcome to the boards.

 

I'd say that the main thing people have a problem with, is the intermediate steering shaft knocking about and making noise (and sloppy steering). It's a pretty easy and inexpensive fix though.

As Wingnut said,The intermediate steering shaft is the biggest problem.

Right now all GM has us dealers doing is relubing them with new grease,however our GM service rep. just told me that GM is in the process of designing a new steering shaft to fix the problem.(Of course we've heard that before!)
