hey, well tonight i reset the computer on my 2000 silverado by unhooking both battery cables for 30 minutes then hooking them back up...and i let it idle for like 10 minutes then i drove it...and my keyless entry is still acting up and not working...it works sometimes..is this just a part of the relearing?also will my truck start idling smoother soon??Thanks for all the help-Travis

Why did you reset the PCM? Also you must hook up the bat. cable with a quick on connection attaching it once on and not a on off connection causing defaults in the PCM. You neverneed to reset the PCM because its always learning. You my have to relearn the key fobs and drive vehicle until at operating temp to relearn some of the basic tables.

First Off, the keyless entry is controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module) not the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). "Resetting" the PCM will do nothing to help you here.

Do a search on eBay for keyless fobs that match your model. Fobs sell for around $15-$20 depending on condition, and most of the sellers will include the "learn" instructions from the tech manual. i would do that before you spend $$ at the dealer. I've done it on my kids' two Pontiac Grand Prix's and worked fine. Don't attempt without the instructions, the sequence is soemthing out of Indiana Jones...(remove obscure fuse, turn key on/off twice while holding door unlock with foot on brake, standing on left leg with your finger up your nose....etc etc)
